Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how TukWay ("TukWay", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the TukWay app and website (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.
1. Information we collect
We collect information in three ways:
- Information you provide. Account details (name, email, phone number), profile photos, payment details, and anything you submit through support, driver applications, or a Magic Order request.
- Information collected automatically. Location data while you use the app (to match you with nearby drivers, calculate routes, and price trips), device information, and usage data such as trip and order history.
- Information from others. If you're a rider or customer, drivers and merchants may share trip- or order-related details with us (e.g. delivery confirmation photos). If you're a driver, we collect the verification documents you submit (license, vehicle registration, national ID).
2. How we use information
- To provide the Service: match riders with drivers, process orders, calculate prices and routes, and enable real-time tracking.
- To verify driver identity and vehicle documents before approving them to accept jobs.
- To process payments and maintain wallet/transaction records.
- To provide customer support and respond to Magic Order requests.
- To send service notifications (trip status, order updates, security alerts).
- To maintain safety and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service.
- To improve the Service through aggregated, de-identified usage analysis.
3. Sharing information
We share information only as needed to operate the Service:
- Between riders/customers and drivers/merchants — e.g. a driver sees a rider's pickup location and name; a rider sees the driver's name, vehicle, and live location during an active trip.
- Service providers who help us operate the Service (payment processing, cloud hosting, mapping, and notifications), bound by confidentiality obligations.
- Legal and safety purposes — when required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of TukWay, our users, or the public.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account as described in Section 6.
5. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your rights and choices
- Access, correct, or update your account information from within the app.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
- Control location permissions through your device settings (note: some features require location access to function).
- Opt out of non-essential notifications from within the app.
7. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email before they take effect.
